Improve your golf game by increasing strength, power, endurance, and flexibility. The National Academy of Sports Medicine has conducted extensive research on golf swing biomechanics and applied exercise training to improve athletic performance.
This training protocol developed by the National Academy of Sports Medicine for golf fitness and enhanced performance is designed for golfers that want to improve overall performance and reduce and/or alleviate common golf injuries.
Southwest Fitness 24/7 Golf Fitness Specialist, certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, designs and implements customized training programs. Following a consultation, a physical assessment is performed including postural evaluation, active range of motion measurements of the spine, shoulders, and hips, manual muscle testing, and a functional movement screen based on biomechanics of the golf swing.
The golf performance training program begins with corrective exercises needed to address any musculoskeletal deficits in flexibility and stabilization and then progresses to strength and power exercises. This program not only improves golf performance and reduces injuries, but it also results in improved overall fitness with gains in lean muscle, flexibility, balance, aerobic capacity, reduced body fat, and athleticism with carry-over into other sports.
All personal fitness training and sports performance training services are provided by degreed National Strength & Conditioning Association certified professionals (see staff).
